This procedure was contributed by vexcom web design atlanta This outlines the process of developing a graphical look and feel for client websites. In summery the steps are: Standard Development Procedure Guidelines All projects begin with an initial consultation to define the scope of the project. The project will then be outlined in a written proposal, along with timelines, deadlines, technology recommendations, and cost. If deemed appropriate, the project will be broken down into unique milestones. All timelines begin when the client has supplied all the necessary data and resources required by vexcom to complete the specific section. If the deadline for the project is in 6 weeks, and it takes 4 weeks to supply us with the resources/data we need develop the project, it is very doubtful that your project will be completed on time. Please make your best effort to work with us in providing the needed information to complete your project. Any development work that falls outside the scope of the proposal will be billable at the regular hourly rate; these situations will be discussed and approved before implementation. This usually only happens when a client decides to implement additional functionality into a project, that was not considered initially. VEXCOM Design Specific ProceduresFor graphics based projects (such as HTML/Flash websites, or CD ROMS), we will create a mock up based on your input and samples. You are allowed one set of revisions, any additional revisions are billable at the regular hourly rate. Multiple graphical looks can be designed for you to choose from, for an additional fee. The design steps defined in detail are as follows:1. Design consultation with the client, gathering specs, artwork, and sample urls. Client also assigns a Single individual to be the point of contact with VEXCOM. VEXCOM will assign a Project Leader to coordinate development. 2. VEXCOM presents a design (mockup) to the client. 3. Client reviews the design with VEXCOM and creates a numbered list of changes and/or revisions, if necessary. The revisions should be delivered to the vexcom project leader via email as a numbered list. 4. VEXCOM reviews the list and if needed consults with the client to clarify any issues, or to access the changes, and make sure they stay within the initial scope as outlined in this proposal. 6. VEXCOM will then begin work on the revisions. Once work has begun, the list cannot be altered. Please review your changes thoroughly before presenting them for revision. 7. The client approves and checks off each number until the list is complete. Once an item has been approved, or "checked off the list" it cannot be revised again, without incurring additional charges. 8. Any changes beyond the initial revision are billable. UnknownsMany projects have unknown variables involved that can adversely affect production time, in these cases, we will give our best guess. This is usually only an issue when dealing with entities outside or direct control, such as other companies, other websites, or developing technologies © Copyright 2002 vexcom inc. ~ All rights reserved. |
